Of all the things I pack for any trip, it’s my beauty bag where I wish I could be more streamlined.
I’m fuss-free, so de-potting and decanting for every trip like my favourite beauty bloggers seems like a waste of time in my book, but full-size makeup products take up so much precious space, especially when it comes to weekend getaways or short trips. But I’ve found a solution – bellabox!
I was first introduced to these boxes a few years ago by Talia from Glossy Confidential who named them as her favourite subscription beauty box. At one point I was signed up to four Australian or International beauty subscription boxes but when it came to value for money, bellabox was always number 1.
What is this ‘bellabox’ you are talking about?
bellabox is a monthly beauty subscription box. Each month, you’ll receive a beautifully packaged box delivered to your home or office. Inside you’ll find five or more products for you to experience. Most are sample size but there are often a few full-size treats from time to time, and almost all of them are perfect for your travel beauty bag.
With brands like Kora, Benefit, Nivia, and Lush having teamed up with bellabox in the past to have their products featured, you know there’s going to be something to tempt you in each months box!
What’s inside bellabox?
Last month’s box was themed ‘Beauty Quick Fix‘ – just the thing you need after a long-haul flight!
Bliss Lemon + Sage Body Butter (moisture cream)
Do you fly a lot? Or like to travel to cold weather destinations? Then you’ll probably know how these conditions can dehydrate and dry out your skin. This body butter by Bliss is the perfect thing to use to combat dry skin!
Light and fresh in scent, the Bliss Lemon + Sage Body Butter deeply moisturises the skin but doesn’t leave it feeling tacky. The moisturising benefits are long lasting; I put it on in the morning and my hands still felt quite moisturised by bed time.
Benefit The POREfessional
This is a staple in my make-up routine already but it’s nice to have a hand bag size version of Benefit’s The POREfessional. Designed to minimise the appearance of pores, I also use it to even out my skin so make up glides on more evenly. It has a lovely light floral scent that disappears as the product sinks into your skin.
It’s not a primer, but a pore minimiser product. So be sure to still pack your primer. What it does do is gives your skin a soft, polished look without having to add an Instagram filter. Highly recommend adding this to your travel beauty bag!
NEON&CO Treatment Oil
Designed to bring dull hair back to life, this hair treatment oil smells and feels amazing! Made with products like Macadamia Oil, Kakadu Plum Oil, and Grape Seed Oil the Neon&CO Treatment Oil really nourishes your hair and is perfect for when your whole body – hair included – feel a little tired after a long haul flight.
I had never used a hair treatment oil before as I try to look after my hair (I’ve never coloured it, done anything too extreme to it, and have a very specific routine for keeping my hair
One aspect I did really did appreciate was that it eliminates frizz without leaving my hair lifeless. It will definitely be in my beauty kit on my next flight.
When it comes to travelling, I hate decanting and repacking lotions and potions so anything that helps save me time I’m keen to try. Coming in single-use pods, the MonoDerma A15 pods were quite possibly my favourite discovery in the bellabox, I just wish there was a weeks supply instead of 2-days!
Light and refreshing, inside the pods are a serum made from Vitamin A which left my skin feeling smooth and soft. It is designed as an exfoliating anti-wrinkle product but as I’m still young and with very few fine lines I didn’t notice a huge difference. Each pod is designed to be a single application and is enough to cover your face, neck and decolletage.
Harvest Box Snack Packs – Berry Bazooka Health Bombs
I am a big fan of ordering and indulging in a Harvest Box, a delicious, guilt free box full of healthy snacks delivered straight to your desk or door. They have now branched out and are selling a range of healthy quick snacks like Power Mixes, Chia Bars and the Health Bombs. It was these Health Bombs that I found inside my bellabox.
Bite-sized and deliciously good for you, currently, there are four flavours of Health Bombs and the Berry Bazooka, which I tried, was seriously good. A little bitter from the cacao but the cranberry and blueberry compensated for it. The perfect guilt-free treat to pack in your carry-on luggage!
Brite Hair Shadow (cruelty-free) Instant temporary hair colour AQUA
If I have one vanity, it is my hair. I’ve never bleached it, barely coloured it, and rarely even use styling tools or products. Did I mention I’ve never coloured it? So to say I was hesitant about using the Brite Hair Shadow was an understatement.
Easy to apply (if not a little messy), you’re able to build up the colour so if you prefer to have a shadow of colour it’s possible but if you want to stand out then you can build it up to a deep bold colour you can do that as well.
It washed out in one wash and didn’t transfer onto my clothes so I call that a win!
Sounds great, but what does it cost?
bellabox come with two subscription options. The monthly subscription plan is $15 + $2.95 postage and handling. If it’s your first bellabox, use the coupon code: ‘WELCOME‘ for $5 off your first box!
An annual plan is available for $13.75 per month, plus postage and handling, but shorter subscription plans are available.
Not only are they the perfect monthly treat to spoil yourself, they’re a great gift for your girl friends AND my favourite way to get travel-sized makeup I love and will actually use (come on, anyone else agree that sample sizes are so much easier to use than…..)
If you want to find something to pamper the man in your life, check out the the bellobox. The quarterly box 6-8 quality samples of skincare perfect for the modern gentleman. There’s also the monthly babybox, the perfect gift for Mum and bub!
I received a bellabox to review, however, have had a subscription in the past which I loved!
All thoughts and opinions are, as always, my own.
