Merry Christmas from Bitten by the Travel Bug

by Nicole on December 25, 2011

Just wanted to say a big Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays to all the Bitten by the Travel Bug family – this includes readers, commenters, people who Tweet, Facebook or Google+ with us. It includes everyone who leaves kind words in my inbox, people who try the things that I write about and the people who encourage both me and all the other readers.

I want to say a big thank you for all your support during 2011. It has been a tough year with much stop start in this blog. Thank you for sticking with me, not yelling for me to blog too much and for lifting me up when people tell me “You’re too Young to be a Travel Blogger!

2012 is going to be amazing! Not only is the blog slowly building up, an executive decision has been made that I’m going to go back to Uni in Melbourne. No, this doesn’t mean I get to have a glofiried holiday from blogging (Uni is not a holiday…) it means that I will be bringing you the best that Melbourne has to offer from themed pub tours, to penguins on Phillip Island, and even try and find some more Melbourne street art. But that won’t be happening til March so until then I’ll be exploring New York and then hiding out in Europe!

I’m also in the process of launching a new site called Travel Hong Kong and Macau which I hope to have set and ready to go with plenty of content by April. I’d love to get a few guest posts on as well so if you have something you’d like to contribute let me know.

As this is posted I will be celebrating Christmas with my family in New York which is one of my favourite cities! I am so excited to be meeting up with Gina from Live for Travel and maybe Seattle from Seattle’s Travels if I can get up to Toronto. If anyone else would like to meet up let me know. The more the merrier!

From New York I’ll be heading to London to visit friends from working at a summer camp and blogging friends – Justin from 48 Hour Adventure, Chris from the Aussie Nomad and Dylan from the Travelling Editor. I also hope to catch up with some new London friends including Monica from The Travel Hack and perhaps even Toni from Reclaiming My Future. Again, if you’re in London I’d love to catch up!

After there my travel plans are a mystery. Do you have any suggestions where I should travel on my way home to Australia?

If there are things you want to see on Bitten by the Travel Bug contact me or leave a comment below. I’d love to hear from you about what YOU want to see on this site. It’s not just a place for me, it’s a place for you too.

So as I explore New York trying to hunt down a proper American turkey dinner I bid you adeu, Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

Thanks for the wish – it’s still carrying through into February!

Looks like I’ll be back at Monash Caulfield but I still have to confirm details in the New Year. Again, not sure where I’ll be living – a friend from Adelaide is moving over for work for a year so it’ll be somewhere half way between Fishermans Bend and Caulfield. Looking like St Kilda East-ish at the moment. Where are you guys located?

Haha, looking forward to hearing about your Aussie adventures and hopefully (finally!) meet up! Merry Christmas. :)
