Fast track your way to Hilton Honors Diamond member status

Hilton HHonors Diamond Card

Free upgrades should a room be available, access to the Executive Lounges, free Wi-Fi, welcomes chocolates with a hand written note – does this sound like your ideal hotel experience? It isn’t a myth, it can be a reality if you become a Hilton Honors Diamond member.
I can feel your apprehension already. You’re thinking, “How can I become a Diamond member?” but I’m here to reassure you it’s easy to get elite status, I mean I have and I’m only 22-years-old.

Hilton HHonors Silver Elite Card

Fast track to Silver Elite

Visiting the Hilton HHonors website you’ll only be offered the choice to sign-up to the Blue level, the base level, but don’t let that deter you because there’s a simple way to jump straight to Silve Elite level.

United Airlines Mileage Plus

Have you signed up to United Airlines Mileage Plus? Well if you are then you are eligible to get instant Silver Elite status as well as being offered the chance to fast track to Gold Elite after 4-stays within 90-days.
To access this offer, when signing up with this link, choose United as your preferred Hilton HHonors Double Dip earnings partner.

You can also access this offer once you have signed up to as part of the United Airlines Mileage Plus program – it’s free!

Perks of Silver Elite

You don’t get a huge jump in privilages for becoming a Silver Elite member but some of the perks include;

  • Access to the properties gym or fitness center
  • 15% extra Hilton HHonor points accumulated per stay
  • Additional benefits when staying at a Hilton Grand Vacation property or Waldorf=Astoria property

Hilton Honours Gold Elite card

Fast track to Gold Elite

Silver may get some nice perks but the real value comes when you reach Gold Elite status when free Wi-Fi and Executive Lounge access are on the offer.

Want to skip straight to diamond and are planning on a few trips over the coming 3-months? Consider staying at Hilton and Hilton family properties and take the MVP challenge for a fast track to Gold Elite status. Follow this link to sign up for the challenge and then make four qualifying stays or spend nine nights within the next 90-day period to reach Gold Elite status.

This is the same fast track as offered with the United Airlines Mileage Plus program.

Waldorf=Astoria Gold sign-up

If you are staying at the Waldorf=Astoria New York there is a designated desk for people with Gold Elite and Diamond status to check-in to the property next to the concierge desk. It is at this desk that you can also sign-up directly to Gold Elite status when checking into the property.

I am unsure if this offer is available at other Waldorf=Astoria branded properties.

Perks of Gold Elite

If you can I highly recommend taking advantage of the perks Gold Elite status offers even if you plan on using it only a few times. Internet in Hilton properties ranges for AU$15 – Au$25 and it’s always nice to turn up to a hotel and be told that you’re being offered an upgrade to an Executive Room and breakfast is included.

  • Complimentary Wi-Fi or high-speed cable Internet
  • Access to the Executive Lounge (including free breakfast, drinks throughout the day and cocktails & canapes in the evening)
  • Possible upgrades to preferred rooms (Executive floor rooms)
  • Access to the properties gym or fitness center
  • 25% extra Hilton HHonor points accumulated per stay
  • as well as additional perks such as early check-in/late check-out, complimentary snacks or water, or bonus points.

Fast track to Diamond Elite

So far I haven’t found any magic spells to fast track your way to Diamond Elite status yet but there might be one way to claim the staus.
If you hold elite status with another hotel’s rewards scheme – Hyatt Passport, Marriott Rewards, Priority Club, etc – then you should ring or email Hilton with your current statement and ask if they will do a ‘status match’.
Status matches may not work every time but it is worth asking for the extra creature comforts that Hilton offers its elite status guests.

Note: My header is not a spelling mistake. Hilton is a US brand and for this reason I am using their spelling, not the British-English equivalent to spell ‘honor’

    Hi Nicole,

We did it thru the MVP route and got our Gold status after 4 stays during our USA trip last year! We stayed in a couple of Hampton Inns under the Hilton Group.

But looks like the gold status is expiring soon as we didn’t manage to complete enough stays this year… 🙁

Aww! Hopefully you can try the some of the other routes listed to get you back up to Gold again. Hampton Inns and Double Trees are lovely if you are planning another vacation. 🙂

Once you reach gold with MVP, to continue to keep the status do you have to have 4 stays a year or the actual Hilton requirement of 16 stays? if so can you re do the challenge each year?

If you reach gold this year through fast track or through stays or nights you will have gold the rest of next year and the year after until March 31 2015. In order to maintain that gold status after March 2015 you will have to complete 20 stays or 40 nights in 2014.

I was told when I signed up for my new Visa Hhonors signature card that I would receive gold status with 4 stays by May 15th.
I’d just like to confirm this.
    Thank you,

      Hi Brent,
To the best of my knowledge this information is still correct, however Visa signature and Hilton have the rights to change this at any time.
      Good luck!!!

Great post, currently in a Hilton property as we speak. I am Silver status with 37,000 pts and was considering opening their credit card for the additional 50,000 offer. Only thing holding me back is that I feel the award night redemption isnt very great, all the properties require a large amount of pts (like all mine)…The Holiday Inn program allows you to use pts and pay a small amount example 5000pts and $60 thats what is for the Candlewood Suites in Times Square which we have stayed at with pts and dollars on three occasions. Any tips on redemption’s?

      Hey Hannah,
Great job at getting to the Silver status!

Unfortunately I haven’t discovered any tips for redemotion. I have found that some cities in Asia offer better Hilton Honor point redemption rates than in the US or Australia, so that could be an option.
Would love to hear if you manage to find any tips. 🙂

There are many Hilton properties that offer you points and money stays now. Hannah don’t forget to sign up for the quarterly promotions that Hilton offers. You must sign up for them each quarter and not all of the properties participate but most do. When you sign up for them usually at the bottom of the page is a link that will show you the hotels that are not participating. You should be getting emails on the promos and you can sign up through them or on the hhonors.com website. These promos give you lots of extra points. Also, got to hhonors.com and click on the link that says Earn and Use Points and it will show you all the ways you can earn points as well as all the ways you can spend those points.

We only joined in July 2012 and still can’t get info on how to pay for what we joined up for!! Was thinking this was a scam as not much communication coming our way. Frustrating to say the least!

      Hey Chris,
      Thanks for commenting.
Hilton Honors is a free program so I’m not sure what payment you are talking about.
To redeem points which you may have collected from signing up/staying at Hilton branded properties then just log in to -> http://hhonors3.hilton.com/en/index.html <- and you can either redeem or check your balance. Hope this helps!

It sounds like you bought the Hilton Grand Vacation package where you get a discounted package and you must take a tour of the property and listen to a sales presentation. This is a different area than Hilton Honors.

Hello, If you happen to be a Hilton member I have heard that Hilton will not add honor points to your account if you book a Hilton hotel with any other hotel booking company…it must be with Hiltons very own website…also Hilton Gold only gets you into the lounge if you’ve been upgraded to an executive room.

Not true. You get the points regardless if you check in and provide them your hilton honors member number. Long Time Diamond Member

Also, Mark – I think it depends which hotels you stay in because I’ve enjoyed lounge access at a number of properties when I had gold status. 🙂

      Hi Katie,

To my knowledge, there is no fast-tracks to Diamond – doubt there ever will be – unless you do a status match from another hotel company (SPG/IHG etc.)

Unsure what country you are in – I mainly monitor Australian promotions since that’s where I’m from – but it seems that the US Visa Signature cards may still offer this, though you need to contact them directly, or you’ll need to stay at a Waldorf=Astoria property as many of them offer complimentary Gold status upon check-in.
