Ticking items off The Checklist in the Northern Territory

Heading to the Northern Territory to take on Plus Seven's 'The Checklist' experience

I complained in my last personal post that I was tired of travelling and couldn’t wait to settle down in Australia for two-months to write more articles about some of the amazing travel adventures I had had this year including learning to dirt bike in Winter Park, Running with the Bulls in Spain and heading to the Olympics in London. But sometimes settling into home doesn’t go to plan when new exciting opportunities come up.

Plus Seven, a partner station of Network Seven in Australia, are going to be launching a new program called ‘The Checklist‘. Hosted by Daniel MacPherson, the show will see three teams presented with a “checklist” of tasks and experiences that they must complete within a short trip to the Northern Territory. Tasks could be raw or luxurious, adventurous or cultural, but all of the experiences are designed to showcase the best aspects of Australia’s biggest territory.

How do I come into it? Well, I’m headed up there with two other bloggers (including the lovely Annabel from Get in the Hot Spot!) to get a taster of some of the challenges that the contestants may come up with!

I’ve never been to the Northern Territory. I know, I’m Australian and haven’t the heart of our country nor the great big rock bang in the center of it; worse still I have family in Alice Springs who I really should go and visit. So whilst I’m not visiting Northern Territory by way of driving – check out my Travel Bug-ket list for that and more of my crazy plans! – I am finally flying into the red center to see what all the fuss is about.

Kings Canyon in the Northern Territory, Australia

So from Thursday til Sunday I’m off to the Northern Territory to take in Uluru, Kings Canyon, Alice Springs and more and, providing the wifi works, will be bringing you along on the journey through Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Don’t worry if you can’t keep up with social media because I’ll be posting about it over the coming weeks as well.

What would be on your Northern Territory ‘Checklist’?

I’m not sure what would be on my checklist – I guess I’ll have to follow and see what you do! Can’t wait to read about you’re adventure! That’s awesome that you’re going with two other bloggers too.

Fun! I definitely want to see Uluru someday, and learn more about the Aboriginal stories that surround it (and all of Australia, for that matter).

I’m with you on wanting to explore Aboriginal culture (especially because it’s part of my heritage!) – it’s so fascinating and I do hope we get some time to learn more.

Hope you get down here to see Uluru soon and drop me a line when you do!
