– Nelson Mandela

Aww, I know it’s so small and so easy to overlook, but if you skip Belgium on your European bug-ket list, you’ll miss out on a lot of pretty sights and cool experiences. If you think “climbing a windmill in the Netherlands” is worthy of a spot on your list, consider adding “planning a long evening of getting tipsy on quality Belgian beer” or “eating half your weight in sweets in a Belgian chocolaterie”. If not for the food, you’ll love to visit the ever so vibrant, cultural and fashion artsy Antwerp, the picturesque Ghent or Bruges, Venice in Belgium. Little gems, honestly. Take it from a local, who’s also seen a big part of the world but still believes in home sweet home =).

      Hey Vixxie,
Thanks for giving me those sweet tips!

I really need to update this list as I do want to visit Belgium! I’ve seen such beautiful photos of the country (a lovely blogger named Sofie from Wanderful Wanderings introduced me to the country!), but I didn’t know much about it when I wrote this list almost 10 years ago!

Thank you for sharing your picks – I especially like the sound of that chocolatier 😉

I hope you’ll consider adding Melbourne to your bucket list – and maybe reach out to me when you come! Would love to show you where the cities best coffee is!
