Travel Bug Tuesday – Colourful boats in Stanley, Hong Kong

Having last visited the Stanley Markets when I was 13, I decided that it was time to make the visit to the overrun tourist area to see what has changed. After making my way through markets with signs telling me that RM Williams and Country Road were in-fact ‘Austrian’ brands not ‘Australian’ brands, and filled with tourist souvenirs, Converse sneakers for a fraction of the cost than the city and a Dymocks (where I buy all my books from in Australia) I finally got to the Harbour.

To my families amusement I clambered over the rocks to join the local fishermen to get a better view over the beautiful harbour. A young Japanese couple were also there, the man taking photos of his girlfriend smiling happily for him.

We continued down the harbours edge crammed with restaurants with few patrons dining (the weather was being rather unpredictable) and these boats caught my eye, lazily drifting in the sea and a stark contrast in colour to the shops and buildings around me.
