It’s almost the final Saturday in September, where two teams – the mighty Adelaide Crows and the proud Richmond Tigers – will be getting ready to battle it out for AFL premiership glory on the hallowed grounds of the MCG.
So, what does one do during AFL Grand Final week? While many of us want to participate in the festivities that mark the lead-up to the game, I get it, tickets to the Grand Final are hard to come by and often quite expensive, but there are still plenty of ways to experience Finals Fever. Here are some ideas, many free, to get you started:
See the boys train before the big day
The Tigers will be holding their Grand Final open training on Friday, September 29 at Punt Road Oval.
Gates will open at 8.30am and the boys will be training from 9.45 – 10.15am. You can enter the oval via gates at the Tigerland Superstore and Punt Road/Jack Dyer Grandstand end of the oval.
As there’s no parking at Punt Road, fans are encouraged to use public transport to get there.
You can find more details here.
The Adelaide Football Club will hold an open training session on Wednesday, September 27th from 9:30 am.
The light training session will be the last chance for members and supporters to cheer on the boys ahead of Saturday’s Grand Final at the MCG.
You can find more details here.
